Platformer Test 1
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
This was a project from back in 2024 that I never got around to publishing. I was working on this project for the Smith College Game Development Club (now known as IGDA Smith) The goal for the project was to create a Hollow Knight like player controller!
- Features
- Dashing
- Wall Jumping
- Wall jump still activates if you are a few pixels away from the wall
- Forgiving Systems
- Coyote time for jump (8 frames)
- Input buffer for jump (5 frames)
- Enemies
- Killed by player from either attacking or shooting
- Can damage and kill the player
- Controller Support
- Left stick or dpad - Move
- Left trigger - Dash
- South face button (Nintendo B) - Jump
- West face button (Nintendo Y) - Attack
- East face button (Nintendo A) - Shoot
- Start - Exit
NOTE: Please do not try to override the frame rate the game runs at! It is locked at 60 fps. I did this as an intentional choice in case I went further with development, I wanted to have the potential for true frame perfect inputs. As such, there are some systems in the game that rely on the game running at 60 fps.
